Bounce back and pick up the pieces
All of us are gifted with the ability to bounce back from a difficult situation. Sometimes it all goes down to how strong our faith is and how determined we are to regain our form. Adversity is a part of life which we cannot avoid. We’ve all been in a bad place at one point in our lives and just like what I said in a earlier post which you can read here, success usually comes after a number of failures. It’s what makes us strong and durable and it brings out the best in us making us a better person.
One thing I’ve learned from going through tough times is that we need to start having a positive outlook towards life. You should become positive in all aspects. Your attitude, your behavior, your relationships, your expectations, everything. I even stopped listening to a podcast I regularly listen to which was an advise show. I didn’t want to absorb all the negative energy I hear from all the callers asking for advice on how to solve their life problems. Instead, I started listening to motivational speakers. You need to do everything you can to stop the negative energy from coming into your life.
It is perfectly normal to feel negative feelings like anger, fear, disappointment and regret sometimes but you need to be able to move past them. Dwelling on these feelings will only keep you on the negative side.
When we get into a negative situation, we have a tendency to dwell on feelings of regret, blaming ourselves for getting us in that the predicament we are in. We need to learn to get past the guilt for we will never be able to get out of it if we continue to harbor these negative feelings.
Whatever bad thing happened to us is done. It has happened and we can never take it back. The right attitude is to accept what has happened and move forward. If we can do this, we’re already one step closer to achieving our goal.
Maintain Your Composure
You’ll only be able to plan a solution if you have a clear mind so don’t panic and keep your focus. Sometimes when the problem is big, we tend to panic and commit more mistakes than reach a solution. If you’re having difficulty coming up with one, consult your friends or loved ones. If anyone can understand what you’re going through, it’s them and they are in the best position to help you.
Learn from the Experience
One of the benefits a negative situation gives is the lesson it leaves us with. Having experienced the struggle makes you realize your faults and assess the situation from a different perspective. It is at this point that you will realize what you have done right and what you have done wrong and what you need to do for you to avoid getting into a similar situation again.
Become a Better Person
Having realized how you got into the bad situation and how you got out of it, it only makes sense that the learning experience should make you a better person. You have complete control of your life and God has equipped you with everything you need to become the best person you could ever be. It’s just sometimes, He needs to make you realize in a hard way how good you are and how you are taking these gifts for granted.
