Why You Should Stop Dreaming and Start Doing

Start Doing and Stop Making Excuses

Many of you may have noticed that I haven’t been writing new stuff lately and that’s because I’ve been busy with work, with family and my new online business that I started doing a few weeks ago.

I’ve tried to get it off the ground working my butt off to start earning from it and learn the ropes while doing it.  I know it’s a poor excuse but you got to cut me some slack right?

I’ve dreamed of having an online business for quite some time now and it has always been put on hold because of several things but now that I’m working at home full-time, I think it’s the perfect time to start doing it so I did my research and looked for the best affiliate marketing program out there (so many scams so I had to be careful) and finally found it.

Subconsciously, I know I’ve been making excuses and I’m gonna be man enough to admit that.  As Zig Ziglar once said, you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great and I now realize how stupid I was to put these plans off waiting for the perfect time.  Trust me, if you have a goal and you’re waiting for the perfect time to do it, it will never come unless you man up and bite the bullet.

This early, I’ve already learned a lot from being an online entrepreneur mostly through my experience and some from other’s experiences and surprisingly, it’s not far from what is happening in our daily lives.  Below are some of them which I hope you will all get something from.

Everyone Starts an Amateur

I know a few people who are also beginners in the business I’m in who doesn’t seem to have the patience.  One or two weeks into the program, they’re already complaining that they are not that good and would not thrive in what they’re doing but there are also others who maintains a positive attitude regardless of the results they were getting. They’re relentless and they just won’t quit that easily.

You have to remember that everyone starts an amateur at everything.  It’s a learning process and you can’t expect to make huge strides immediately.  It’s just not realistic.  I used to be impatient too but I’ve learned from my mistakes. Success takes time and if you’re not willing to wait, you’re not gonna get there anytime soon.

If You Really Want Something, You Have to Do Everything You Can to Get It

Freelancing has been good to me.  I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is now which was my initial fear but we’ve managed to get by with the projects I’ve got but I can’t deny that there are really days when there’s no project to work on and that’s when my desire to start doing an online business intensified.

I’m not going to make excuses anymore.  I need an extra source of income for the rainy days and when I finally found it, I just went ahead and joined.  It’s not that I didn’t give it much thought.  I think I’ve given it a lot of though already.  Too much actually.  It’s time to take a deep breath and close my eyes and jump.  Which I did, and I couldn’t be happier that I made that decision.

You have to get past your fear when you want something that bad.  Throw caution to the wind, take it and be committed to it.  Don’t let your excuses stop you from getting something that will make you happy.

You Can’t Please Everyone

Getting people to join your business isn’t easy and we all know that.  it’s not much different in life.  You can’t get everyone to like you or agree with you but that’s okay.  What’s important is to focus on your goals.  Never mind the bashers and the haters.  They’ll continue to hate you regardless of what you do so don’t pay attention and just continue what you’re doing.

My principle when it comes to business is simple.  “Whether you join my business or not, I’m still going to earn.”  In life, whether they like you or hate you, you’ll still succeed if you continue to focus on what’s important to you.

Over to You

While it is important to be ready and have a plan, you can’t be stuck in that stage forever.  You can’t just plan and plan without executing.  At some point you have to start doing and keep on doing it until you become good at it and reach your ultimate goal.

You are in control.  You have the power to take your life in your preferred direction so start doing that!

    Hi Noel,

Yes, “everyone starts an amateur at everything”. We don’t know anything when we take birth.

Doing mistakes is not a bad thing learning from mistakes is what we have to develop so that same mistakes don’t happen again.

Making excuses makes us weak it’s escapism. We can’t make everyone happy whatever we do it’s a reality. We should try to make happy as many people as possible that’s what our goal should be.

A lot to learn from your article.

    I will tweet your post.

    Thanks a lot for sharing.

    Hello Noel,

    Great shout here :)

Every one comes as a learner in this world, no body is perfectly trained from the beginning. It takes time and time to master our skills. To learn its mandatory to commits mistakes, until we will never make mistakes we are not going to learn things.

Exactly we are not here to please every one here. What we do defines us, and our actions speaks more than our selves.
Like minded people will be happy to connect with us.

    Thanks for the share.
